ZERO Prostate Cancer Launches Nationwide 2025 Run/Walk Series
As September heralds National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, ZERO Prostate Cancer (ZERO) is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 Run/Walk Series. This nationwide initiative seeks to unite communities in the ongoing fight against prostate cancer, demonstrating solidarity and the pressing need for increased awareness surrounding this significant health issue.
The series kicks off on
September 6 in three cities:
Houston, Texas,
New York, and
St. Louis, Missouri. The event will span
25 U.S. cities, concluding on
November 8 in
South Florida. Each event is designed to celebrate lives saved, honor those we've lost, and advocate for greater access to care and awareness.
Courtney Bugler, President and CEO of ZERO Prostate Cancer, states,
“Prostate cancer remains one of the most urgent men's health crises of our time, and far too many lives are lost too soon.” This sentiment underscores the importance of community involvement and support, aiming to foster resilience and connection among participants—patients, survivors, families, caregivers, and supporters alike.
The Importance of Community Engagement
The Run/Walk Series is more than just an athletic event; it serves as a lifeline for many affected by prostate cancer. Participants’ involvement helps generate essential funding for ZERO's patient-focused initiatives. These encompass free PSA testing, caregiver support, education, and financial assistance. Moreover, every event acts as a vital gathering space, facilitating connections among individuals who share similar experiences, thereby promoting a sense of belonging and strength.
Features of the Events
Each event in the series comes with various features to enhance the experience for all attendees:
1.
Accessible Run/Walk Course: Designed for everyone, regardless of ability.
2.
Celebration Ceremony: Honoring survivors and remembering those lost to the disease.
3.
Educational Resources: Providing vital health information to empower men and families with critical knowledge about prostate health.
4.
Sponsor Villages: Highlighting contributions from both national and local sponsors, including leading organizations such as
AbbVie and
Bayer, who share a commitment to ensure no one faces prostate cancer alone.
AbbVie and Bayer's partnerships lend significant support, allowing ZERO to amplify the impact of the Run/Walk Series. Together, these organizations are making strides toward a future where prostate cancer is detected early and treated effectively, ensuring no man has to face this diagnosis in isolation.
