In recent years, Japan has grappled with a pressing issue termed 'drug loss', where innovative pharmaceuticals approved in Western countries remain unavailable in Japan. This situation threatens the timely provision of cutting-edge medical treatments to the Japanese population. To combat this challenge, a collaborative effort between public and private sectors is underway, aiming for:
1. Strengthened drug discovery capabilities in Japan.
2. Swift delivery of the latest drugs to citizens.
3. A sustainable system that fosters investment and innovation.

During this seminar, Mr. Araki will offer a comprehensive view of government initiatives aimed at building this ecosystem, alongside a detailed overview of the current status of clinical trials and various measures undertaken to facilitate them.
