In a continuous effort to foster development and address social challenges, Machida City has announced the commencement of its recruitment for new themes in its Private Proposal System. This initiative invites local businesses to contribute ideas that will enhance citizen services and tackle various societal issues, all aimed at benefitting the community

New Themes up for Proposal

The following themes are now open for proposal submissions:

1. Smoke and Odor Mitigation from Designated Smoking Areas
- Recruitment Period: June 18, 2025, to November 18, 2025
- Department: Environmental Resources Department, Environmental Coexistence Division

Seeking partnerships to address smoke and odor issues emanating from designated smoking areas, innovative solutions such as the introduction of partition-type designated smoking areas are of particular interest.

2. Social Experimentation Site for Pigeon Deterrence
- Recruitment Period: June 18, 2025, to November 18, 2025
- Department: Road Maintenance Division

This theme calls for partners to provide locations suffering from pigeon droppings for experimental deterrence solutions aimed at finding effective measures to combat the issue.
