SERES Champions Electric Vehicle Innovation and Collaboration at Davos 2025

SERES Champions Electric Vehicle Innovation at Davos 2025

During the annual World Economic Forum meeting from January 20-24, 2025, in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, SERES emerged as a key player representing China's new energy vehicle sector. With almost 3,000 participants from 130 countries, the conference centered around the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age," focusing on innovative growth strategies in today's intelligent era.

SERES Vice President Kang Bo stood out as the only representative from a Chinese electric vehicle company, taking part in numerous discussions and workshops throughout the event. He emphasized the importance of open cooperation in a rapidly changing global landscape, where sharing knowledge and resources across various sectors allows for innovative business practices and robust development approaches.

With sector boundaries becoming increasingly blurred, Kang Bo underlined how cross-industry collaboration is now vital. SERES, through partnerships with leading global automotive suppliers and technology firms, has significantly enhanced the intelligence and connectivity of its vehicles. The company's powertrain technology is now shared with 12 partners globally, reflecting collective progress in the automotive industry.

"Advancements in new quality productive forces have propelled China's new energy vehicle industry to new heights," remarked Kang Bo. The domestic automotive sector has made tremendous progress, showcasing improvements in electric powertrains, artificial intelligence systems, advanced materials, and modern manufacturing processes. Such innovations strengthen the entire value chain of the industry, ensuring a competitive position for Chinese manufacturers in high-end markets. SERES exemplifies this high-quality innovation, with its brand recognition and perceived value continuously improving.

Remarkably, SERES achieved a notable milestone in 2024, with new energy vehicle sales surpassing 420,000 units - marking a staggering growth of over 182% year-on-year. Kang Bo identifies that the true strength of intelligent vehicles lies in Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), which leverage continuous over-the-air updates to deliver an evolving driving experience, enhancing both software capabilities and hardware performance throughout the vehicles' lifetime.

Additionally, SERES has made significant strides in intelligent manufacturing, launching a state-of-the-art Super Factory in Chongqing that serves as a global benchmark. The facility boasts over 3,000 robots, achieving 100% automation in critical processes and comprehensive vehicle inspections, which significantly enhances production efficiency and product quality. The introduction of 10,000-ton integrated die-casting technology reduces the number of components and elevates overall vehicle quality.

With the global automotive industry facing rapid advances in technology and sustainability, SERES is positioned at the forefront of innovation, setting standards and spearheading collaborative efforts that pave the way for a smarter, greener future in transportation.

This event demonstrated SERES's commitment to leading the charge in electric vehicle innovation while fostering global partnerships to tackle the challenges of the intelligent age.
