At the MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei hosted a forum titled 'Accelerate Transportation Digital Intelligence', where the company revealed innovative strategies to enhance mobility and logistics. One of the key highlights of the event was the introduction of five new solutions designed to revolutionize transportation. David Shi, Vice President of Huawei's ICT Marketing and Solution Sales, emphasized the company's commitment to openness, collaboration, and shared success. He remarked that these solutions aim to enhance connectivity among passengers, cargo, and various logistics streams, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into diverse transportation scenarios such as railways, roads, airports, and seaports.
PhD. Reha Çetin, CIO of Istanbul Grand Airport, discussed how the airport is leveraging Huawei's advanced digital technologies to further its digital transformation, referred to as 'Airport 5.0'. The initiative aims to deliver next-generation airport experiences and improve operational efficiency. Zaiming Ren, Deputy General Manager of CRSC International, shared insights on how the new railway communication system, known as FRMCS, would elevate train control efficiency, enhance railway transportation capacity, and reduce lifecycle costs.
Carlos López Gutiérrez, Transportation BU Director at SICE, expressed the importance of AI and edge computing in exploring different transportation scenarios. 1. Road Transport: Huawei unveiled the Transportation Operations Coordination Center (TOCC) Solution, designed to improve transport monitoring and multimodal logistics. This innovative tool establishes a new model for integrated urban transport management.
2. Railway Operations: The Next-Gen Bearer Network for Operation and Dispatching Solution enhances the safety and efficiency of communication services in the railway industry, supporting its digitalization journey.
3. Customs Management: Huawei's big data risk management solution leverages advanced data analytics to address traditional challenges in customs operations, improving monitoring accuracy and clearance efficiency.
4. Port Operations: The introduction of the first all-element scheduling agent in the industry, powered by Chain-of-Thought (CoT) technology, revolutionizes port operations from planning to execution, improving traffic efficiency and reducing reliance on manual interventions.
Additionally, Huawei and Surge announced the successful commercial deployment of the world's first 1.4 GHz fixed wireless access network for railways, heralding a new era of connectivity along Indonesia's railways.
As Huawei continues to emphasize innovation through partnerships, the company aims to fortify the global transport ecosystem, serving over 100 ports and 210 airports worldwide.
