Antares Vision Partners with Guinea-Bissau to Transform Public Health Systems

Antares Vision Partners with the Ministry of Health of Guinea-Bissau

Antares Vision Group, an esteemed Italian multinational, has made headlines with its recent contract signing with the Ministry of Health of Guinea-Bissau. This multi-year agreement aims to enhance public health management through advanced Track & Trace systems and quality control measures.

A Step Towards Digital Transformation

Under the leadership of Minister Pedro Tipote, the collaboration seeks to spearhead Guinea-Bissau's digital transformation in healthcare. By implementing the rfxcel Traceability Hub (rTH) along with Government solutions (rGOV), the country aims to establish a robust pharmaceutical traceability network. This initiative is poised to enhance safety, ensure compliance, and offer better oversight of regulatory practices across the supply chain.

Starting in the latter half of 2025, all participants in the pharmaceutical supply chain will be mandated to register. This registration will lay the groundwork for a comprehensive approach towards greater visibility and security in the pharmaceutical landscape of Guinea-Bissau.

Revolutionizing Pharmaceutical Safety in Western Africa

With this agreement, Guinea-Bissau is setting a precedent in Western Africa by launching its full end-to-end National Medicines Verification and Authentication System.

This cutting-edge system will:
  • - Enhance the Security: It will ensure that medicines distributed across the country are verified, thus drastically reducing counterfeit drug risks.
  • - Provide Real-Time Insights: Regulatory bodies will have access to current insights about medicine availability and distribution, allowing for more informed decision-making.
  • - Empower Patients: Digital product verification will enable patients to verify the authenticity of their medications, offering them access to Patient Information Leaflets (ePILs). This initiative will lead to significant improvements in transparency and public trust in the healthcare system.

Antares Vision’s Comprehensive Solutions

Antares Vision Group is committed to integrating advanced technology into Guinea-Bissau's healthcare framework. Its state-of-the-art transactional repository (rTH) is designed to securely manage every transaction within the supply chain. This fully GS1-compliant hub will cater to pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, distributors, dispensers, and government procurement facilities.

In addition, Antares Vision’s government platform (rGOV) will include key modules that can strengthen Guinea-Bissau's healthcare infrastructure:
  • - National Healthcare Product Catalogue: A centralized resource for managing all medicinal and drug-related information, which ensures that regulatory agencies have access to real-time data.
  • - Customs Import Bridge: This critical module will offer complete visibility into medical and pharmaceutical imports, linking customs records seamlessly with manufacturers' data to ensure governmental oversight.
  • - Central Registry: The central registry will document all entities involved in the pharmaceutical supply chain, enhancing regulatory compliance and streamlining processes.

Commitment to Quality and Safety

Antares Vision Group is proud to partner with the Ministry of Health of Guinea-Bissau on this transformative journey. Gianluca Mazzantini, CEO and General Manager of Antares Vision Group, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “This agreement is a remarkable milestone, paving the way for a more modernized and secure pharmaceutical sector.”

Sebastian Neuwirth, Head of Government Solutions for Antares Vision Group, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the positive impact of the initiative on public health. As this ambitious project unfolds, Guinea-Bissau becomes a trailblazer in implementing advanced healthcare systems that prioritize safety, transparency, and efficiency. This novel approach not only promises better healthcare outcomes for citizens but also positions Guinea-Bissau as a leading example in the industry across the region.
