The Brattle Group Expands Its Infrastructure Sector
In a significant step to reinforce its infrastructure practice, The Brattle Group has announced the hiring of two distinguished experts, Luigi de Francisci and Paolo Prestininzi. This move reflects Brattle's commitment to addressing a wide range of infrastructure challenges and expanding its interdisciplinary capabilities.
Welcoming New Experts
Dr. Lucia Bazzucchi, Principal and Infrastructure Practice Leader at Brattle, expressed her enthusiasm about the new additions. She noted, "We are thrilled to welcome Luigi and Paolo, both of whom possess extensive knowledge within the regulatory space and the industry itself. Their experience in European institutions and large infrastructure operators will deepen our ability to support clients facing a variety of infrastructure projects and challenges, from regulatory and market design reforms to disputes and operational investment analyses."
Expertise of Luigi de Francisci
Luigi de Francisci brings over 30 years of experience in Italy's energy and utility sector, making him a valuable asset to the Brattle team. He has held prominent leadership and regulatory roles at several key organizations, including the Gestore della Trasmissione Nazionale (GRTN), Italy's national grid operator, and Terna S.p.A., Europe's largest independent electricity transmission operator. Most recently, he served at ACEA, one of Italy's largest multi-utility companies.
Moreover, de Francisci has collaborated closely with both national and international regulatory bodies and has represented Italian infrastructure institutions in various European forums. His in-depth knowledge encompasses tariff reviews, regulatory compliance, infrastructure regulation, and contractual closures.
Paolo Prestininzi’s Contribution
Paolo Prestininzi, as an expert in corporate finance, brings significant experience advising investors and infrastructure operators on regulatory matters, asset valuation, and restructuring. He has worked on numerous complex international infrastructure projects throughout the transaction lifecycle, including pre-financing, post-transaction integration, and corporate restructuring. Prestininzi previous positions include roles at one of the Big Four accounting firms and a leading international infrastructure operator, focusing on highways, airports, and fiber optic networks.
