Launch of the 3rd Edition of Sendai Global Startup Campus

The Sendai Global Startup Campus (SGSC), organized by the city of Sendai and managed by 01Booster, is excited to announce its 3rd session. Starting today, June 20, 2025, applications are open for young and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to make their mark on the global stage.

Program Overview

The SGSC is designed for students and young individuals aged 16 and above from the six prefectures of Tohoku. With the motto "Challenge while young, with a global perspective," SGSC seeks to cultivate future entrepreneurs by providing an immersive and comprehensive entrepreneurial program. The first 100 applicants will be invited to participate, with promising candidates selected for a trip to Silicon Valley to refine their business ideas further.

Application Period

• - Pre-Entry: June 20, 2025, to July 18, 2025 (by 18:00)
• - Main Entry: June 20, 2025, to July 25, 2025 (by 18:00)

Eligibility Criteria

Participants must be residents or have a personal connection to the six Tohoku prefectures and must be at least 16 years old. This includes university students, graduate students, high school students, and young professionals under 30. Participants who previously applied or attended can reapply this year as well.

Program Details

The program consists of three stages:

1. Stage 1: Boot Camp (August)
An intense five-day workshop where participants will collaborate with diverse teams through games, mentoring, and hands-on experiences from idea generation to presentation.
- Dates: August 18-22, 2025
- Location: Near Sendai (YUI NOS and more)

2. Stage 2: 01 Dojo (September)
Participants will develop their business ideas into workable models and evaluate their feasibility through strategic, sustainable, and social lenses. The top 20 teams will advance to Stage 3.
- Dates: September 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 20 (Pitch Day)
- Location: Near Sendai (YUI NOS and online)

3. Stage 3: Silicon Valley Program (February)
Selected teams will visit Silicon Valley, engage with startups, and gain firsthand exposure to global business dynamics. They will also undergo advanced mentoring sessions post-trip to polish their developed ideas.
- Dates: Silicon Valley trip from December 1-6, 2025
- Location: Google HQ, StartX, Bakar Lab, and more.

Free Participation

The program is free of charge for participants. However, throughout various stages, travel costs will be the responsibility of participants. For those living far away, accommodation arrangements will be provided at no cost for Stages 1 and 2.

Information Sessions

To help applicants understand the overall program and application process, SGSC will host hybrid information sessions that will be archived for future viewing. The first session is scheduled for July 5, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at enspace in Sendai.
