The Azabudai Hills Gallery will host a remarkable exhibition titled "The Isao Takahata Exhibition: The Man Who Made Japanese Animation" from June 27 to September 15, 2025. This event will celebrate the legacy of Isao Takahata, a pivotal figure in Japanese animation, known for his exceptional storytelling and artistic innovation.

Special Support from Shunji Iwai

The well-known director, Shunji Iwai, has been appointed as a special supporter for the exhibition. Iwai, who had a profound mentorship under Takahata during his university days, expressed his gratitude for the invaluable lessons and opportunities he received. He plans to use his influence to share Takahata's enchanting world with the next generation.

One of the most exciting features of the exhibition will be an exclusive photo spot based on the beloved character from the 1972 film "Panda Kopanda." Attendees can recreate a classic scene where Panda's child, Pan-chan, leaps into the arms of her dad, Papanda. The gallery will be equipped with cameras, allowing visitors to capture these special moments and take home memories of their experience.

- Mountain Lunch Set (1,480 yen): A cozy meal featuring rye bread with melted cheese and a comforting milk soup, evoking the tranquility of a mountain lodge.

Desserts and Beverages:

- Mimiko's Fried Egg Dessert Plate (1,580 yen): A creative dessert portraying an egg that didn't make it. Enjoy the fluffy cheesecake paired with French toast.
- Shortcake of Sin (1,150 yen): A luscious traditional shortcake topped heavily with whipped cream, sure to satisfy cravings.
