Huawei Unveils Four Innovative All-Optical Solutions for AI-Centric F5.5G Networks

Huawei's Commitment to AI-Centric F5.5G Networks

Huawei, a leader in telecommunications and information technology, has recently taken a significant step to revolutionize the networking landscape. During the Green All-Optical Network Forum held at MWC 25 in Barcelona, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Product Line, Kim Jin, introduced four groundbreaking all-optical solutions designed to assist global operators in building AI-driven F5.5G networks. This move aligns with the fast-paced advancements in the global AI industry and aims to foster a win-win scenario in the smart era.

Accelerating the Optical Access Network

As the use of artificial intelligence continues to grow, the demand for high-speed internet connections becomes crucial. To support this shift, Huawei has developed innovative solutions that enable operators to upgrade their optical access networks. The company is promoting the industry's first intelligent OLT solution, the MA5800T X17, and has now expanded this line with models X15, X8, and X2 to meet varying capacity demands. These state-of-the-art products boast the highest transmission capacity in the industry and support high-density 50G PONs, making it possible for operators to establish future-proof networks over the next decade.

The newly introduced products specifically cater to the needs of service providers, offering significant enhancements in terms of port density and enabling seamless transitions in inventory processes. The FAN Intelligent Engine architecture works in conjunction with the NCE (Network Cloud Engine) to facilitate customized line services, optimize inter-user Wi-Fi, and plan computing resources on demand, ultimately guiding operators towards a successful "Network as a Service" model.

Enhancements in Metro Networks

In addition to the innovations in the optical access networks, Huawei has also focused on metro networks. The release of the AI-centric Fully Optical Metro Architecture last year allowed for a remarkable 1-millisecond latency in both DCA (Data Center Interconnect) and DCI (Data Center Access). Now, the introduction of the high-speed single-wavelength 2T card solution further cements Huawei's position at the forefront of networking technology.

With the new TFLN modulator, single-wavelength capacity has been elevated from 1.6 Tbit/s to 2 Tbit/s, leading to a 20% reduction in cost per bit. Furthermore, the Ocean Current energy-saving algorithm provides a remarkable 50% savings in energy consumption by automatically shutting down idle circuits based on real-time traffic conditions. Additionally, the proactive detection of fiber delays supports AI service planning with detailed delay maps and navigation tools, enhancing overall network efficiency.

Advancements in Backbone Networks

The OSN 9800 K series, launched last year, is now complemented by the K12 model, designed to support a wider array of scenarios with smaller rack sizes. This new iteration boasts a 30% enhancement in performance for 800G transmission and extends transport distances by an extra 1,000 kilometers, all while simplifying optical rerouting times from 10 seconds to just 50 milliseconds. This innovation promises to maintain optimal costs while achieving a staggering 99.9999% network availability.

Additionally, Huawei's dual-feed dual-receiver setup offers rapid deduplication algorithms aimed at enhancing computational efficiency through AI, guaranteeing efficient data exchange in optical networks.

Smart Management and Control

Harnessing the power of AI for smart management and control, Huawei's iMaster NCE offers advanced monitoring solutions for entirely optical access systems. Utilizing the HBB Agent, this technology can proactively identify low-quality connections and automatically rectify faults within a minute, significantly reducing user complaints by up to 60%. For optical transmission, the digital mapping tool identifies network and service risks and resolves issues within just 15 minutes.

Kim Jin emphasized the transformative power of artificial intelligence, stating, "AI is rapidly changing the world and providing unprecedented opportunities for optical networks. Huawei continues to innovate to help operators establish AI-Centric F5.5G Fully Optical Networks with high quality and efficiency, capturing new opportunities along the way."

This latest development positions Huawei not just as a technology provider, but as a vital partner in the evolution of smart networks that are designed to address the future's connectivity demands.
