Ambientec Launches New Lighting Tool 'Vosco' at Milan Design Week 2025

Ambientec Launches New Lighting Tool 'Vosco'

Ambientec, a company focused on innovative lighting solutions, is set to unveil its latest creation, 'Vosco', at Milan Design Week 2025 on April 2025. Starting March 19, 2026, consumers will be able to purchase Vosco at the Ambientec Gallery in Tokyo.

The Concept of Vosco

Vosco emphasizes mobility by promoting the concept of handling and moving light in everyday life. This lighting tool is designed to be genuinely useful, gradually conforming to the user's grip over time, as its handle softens and adapts.

Aiming to revive the natural resources of satoyama, or rural mountain forests, Vosco creatively utilizes wood that is often overlooked in traditional furniture making. Instead of discarding twisted or blemished natural timbers, it makes a conscious effort to integrate them into contemporary living spaces. This approach not only brings back the significance of local resources but also acts as a sustainable model for future production techniques.

Event: Synesthesia #02

To celebrate the launch of Vosco, Ambientec Gallery Tokyo will host an exhibition titled 'Synesthesia #02', running from March 19 to April 5, 2026. This event will feature collaborations with FUEGUIA 1833, an Argentine perfume laboratory, delighting visitors with a symphony of scents, sounds, and lights. Attendees can experience the unique world of Vosco, accompanied by music from artists like Dawn of Midi and Kali Malone.

Inspiration from Nature

Historically, forests in rural Japan have been nurtured through a sustainable cycle of use and care. However, the rise of imported materials and modern fuel technology led to the degradation of these woodlands over time. Vosco aims to reclaim this relationship with nature by deliberately incorporating tree varieties that feature natural blemishes, promoting a broader appreciation for these unique materials.

The term 'natural blemish' reflects the aesthetics of pieces with noticeable knots, curves, or insect trails, turning what were once considered imperfections into defining characteristics. This thoughtful design approach invites users to cherish these qualities and encourages a long-term relationship with the product.

Commitment to Quality Light

With the newly developed Fresnel lens, Vosco produces soft, uniform light that minimizes glare and is close to natural lighting. The adjustable LED can emit warmth akin to candlelight or a functional brightness ideal for reading, with a range from 2400K to 1700K and up to 180 hours of continuous usage on low settings. Users can toggle through four light intensities via a touch sensor, enhancing the quality of their experience.

Designed for Longevity

Vosco's internal structure is designed to distribute weight evenly, ensuring that users can easily repair or replace parts throughout its lifespan. With an option for different sizes—small, medium, and large—and the choice between Maple or Walnut wood, Vosco can evolve alongside the user's needs, embodying resilience and adaptability.

Awards and Recognition

Vosco has already garnered acclaim, having won the lighting category at the ADA - Archiproducts Design Awards in November 2025 and the iF Design Award in March 2026, showcasing its exceptional design and sustainability.
