Luup Conducts Safety Training and Test Rides at Osaka Metro Group Festival 2025
In a bid to promote safe and responsible usage of micro-mobility solutions, Luup Inc. successfully conducted a safety training and test ride session during the Osaka Metro Group Festival 2025. This event took place on November 16, 2025, at the Osaka Metro Midori Wood Vehicle Factory, situated in Suminoe Ward, Osaka. The initiative aimed to educate attendees on the safe operation of electric kickboards and newly introduced seated scooters, ensuring that riders comply with traffic regulations.
Luup, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, was founded with the mission to transform urban mobility by creating an accessible infrastructure that allows everyone, regardless of age or gender, to travel freely and comfortably. The company has rapidly expanded its micro-mobility sharing services across Japan since launching in the Osaka area in May 2021. Currently, Luup operates around 1,600 ports throughout the region, making it the leading provider of electric micro-mobility sharing services in the area.
In July 2025, Luup and Osaka Metro entered into a capital and operational partnership to foster sustainable urban development through the infrastructure of micro-mobility. This collaboration aims to invigorate transportation options and boost community engagement within Osaka's neighborhoods.
The safety training session held at the festival plays a vital role in promoting responsible usage of two of Luup's latest offerings: the electric kickboard and the seated scooter, known as the 'Electric Seated Board.' These vehicles are designed not only for convenience and short-distance travel but also to address the ongoing issues of transportation gaps and driver shortages in both urban and rural areas.
During the training, participants engaged in practical demonstrations, gaining firsthand experience of riding electric scooters while learning essential safety techniques. Luup’s team emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws, ensuring that riders are well-equipped with the knowledge needed for their safety and the safety of others.
The Electric Seated Board, which launched on November 18, 2025, in the Yokohama area, is equipped with seating and additional features suited for a variety of users, including seniors or those requiring more comfortable travel options. Moreover, Luup plans to introduce additional inclusive mobility solutions, such as the 'Unimo'— a tricycle designed to cater to diverse mobility needs.
Luup's commitment to safety goes beyond hosting training sessions; the company continually strives to raise awareness about road safety among users through ongoing campaigns and educational initiatives. By fostering a culture of safety, Luup aims to empower individuals to responsibly utilize their services and enhance the overall experience of urban transportation in Osaka.
The Osaka Metro Group Festival 2025 served as an excellent platform for Luup to not only showcase its innovative micro-mobility solutions but to engage with the community on essential safety measures. Luup remains dedicated to enhancing transportation experiences by prioritizing user safety, thereby contributing to the overall well-being and accessibility of urban mobility.
