Zoff SHIBUHARA: A Groundbreaking Eyewear Store with Robotics

Introducing Zoff SHIBUHARA: The Next-Generation Eyewear Experience

On May 29, 2026, the renowned eyewear brand Zoff, operated by Intermestic Co., is set to launch its next flagship store, Zoff SHIBUHARA, at Shibuya's commercial facility, Shiburahra Cross. This unique concept shop is strategically located about a 6-minute walk from Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line, a hub where the cultures of Shibuya and Harajuku converge, making it a focal point for trends and urban culture.

An Immersive Eyewear Culture

Zoff SHIBUHARA aims to recontextualize eyewear as an integral part of daily life, or “life wear,” rather than just a product for sale. The store offers an immersive experience that allows customers to engage with the craftsmanship behind their eyewear. One of the standout features of this innovative space is the cutting-edge automatic lens processing robot, the first of its kind in Japan's eyewear retail industry. This oversized machine, measuring approximately 2.5 meters long, enables visitors to observe the intricate lens processing stages up close, enhancing their appreciation for eyewear craftsmanship.

A Unique Design Aesthetic

In collaboration with the design and architectural firm DAIKEI MILLS, the store's interior is inspired by Zoff's latest design concept known as “Laboratory.” The SHIBUHARA store delivers a striking visual experience through its “Industrial” theme, which employs stark, industrial elements to express the very essence of craftsmanship and assembly. The use of the building's architectural structure and custom fixtures creates a fresh and engaging shopping experience, unlike any conventional retail environment. Additionally, the store features a striking visual display composed of around 32 hanging monitors, offering a visually captivating representation of Zoff’s brand universe.

More than Just Shopping

Zoff SHIBUHARA is planned as a space where shoppers can not only see and select products but also immerse themselves in a new way to experience eyewear culture. The store's philosophy encourages visitors to engage with glasses in a multi-sensory manner, paving the way for a new era of eyewear culture in Japan.

Exclusive Collection Launch

To commemorate the store’s opening, Zoff will exclusively offer the 'Mastercraft Archive' series of eyeglasses. This collection features glasses that are produced in Sabae City, Fukui, one of Japan’s premier eyewear manufacturing regions. The limited-stock items are specially curated frames selected from a vintage stock of frames that have been carefully preserved over the years. The collection emphasizes high-quality frames made from materials like cellulose acetate and titanium, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of Sabae-made eyewear.

Limited Availability

Each item in the Mastercraft Archive is unique, with some serving as one-of-a-kind pieces. After the launch, there will be no restocks, making this collection a rare opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike. Additionally, starting from late June 2026, the store plans to launch sunglasses integrating Zoff's original colored lenses with Sabae-made frames, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary fashion sensibility.
