Hajime Construction Unveils an Innovative Foundation Method
Hajime Construction Co., a central entity within the Iida Group Holdings, is set to revolutionize residential foundation work with its new technique, the
HT Base Foundation Method, and a specially designed separator tool known as
µ (Mu) Separator. Scheduled for general sales launch in spring 2024, this innovation targets the fundamental aspects of housing construction.
Background and Objectives of the New Method
The newly developed method aims to tackle some pressing challenges associated with traditional foundation work. The typical
slab foundation method, which involves a single pouring of concrete for both the base slab and the rising section, has proven effective for fewer housing units on-site, allowing for completed work within one day. Moreover, eliminating joint seams can significantly shorten construction periods while improving the structural integrity of the foundation.
However, existing methods also present several obstacles, making their application in Hajime Construction challenging. The core issues include:
1. Difficulty in managing level differences in molds due to varying excavation depths.
2. Increased material costs due to the large variety and quantities of consumables required for mold support.
3. High complexity of the construction process, often reliant on the skill and experience of workers.
To address these challenges, Hajime Construction has successfully developed its original
HT Base Foundation Method alongside the µ Separator tool.
Features of the HT Base Method and µ Separator
This innovative construction method stems from a technical proposal initiative within the company, sparked by suggestions from on-site staff. The focus is on achieving a balance between labor-saving measures and high-quality construction practices.
The
µ Separator plays an essential role, enabling precise adjustments to the installation level of the molds, which significantly reduces the need for various consumables and simplifies the types of molds used. Throughout the development process, the practical application of the construction method was rigorously tested by actual workers and supervisors at construction sites, integrating their expert knowledge into training materials.
As a result, Hajime Construction is actively standardizing these advanced foundation techniques in its operations.
Manufacturing and Distribution of HT Base Method
In collaboration with Takayama Metal Industry Co., a manufacturer of construction hardware, Hajime Construction has established a licensing agreement concerning the patented techniques and know-how involved. This partnership aims to facilitate the manufacturing, distribution, and widespread adoption of the HT Base Foundation Method and µ Separator.
