Introducing SHALUCK: A Cost-Effective Solution to Manufacturing Information Fragmentation

SHALUCK: Revolutionizing Manufacturing Data Integration

Benefacis, a Tokyo-based company, is set to launch its innovative service called SHALUCK on April 1, 2026. This new series is designed to tackle the persistent problem of information fragmentation within the manufacturing sector, particularly among small- to medium-sized enterprises. By integrating key components such as design data, project information, sales insights, and production details into one cohesive system, SHALUCK aims to enhance overall management visibility and operational efficiency.

Background: The Challenge of Information Fragmentation

Information fragmentation is a widespread issue in many manufacturing firms. Data often exists in silos across various departments, leading to inefficiencies and missed opportunities for improvement. Typical scenarios include:
  • - Project & Sales Data: Stored in Excel sheets, PDFs, or separate management systems.
  • - Design Data: Managed through 3D CAD, 2D CAD, or even paper drawings.
  • - Production Information: Typically found in physical production orders or overlooked charts.
  • - Progress Tracking: Relies heavily on whiteboards and paper schedules, propelling needless communication burdens.
  • - Outsourcing Management: Often conducted through emails or faxes.

These challenges not only lead to repetitive tasks and a lack of historical data reuse but are also significant barriers to improving productivity in the manufacturing industry. Benefacis has identified this issue and leveraged a method called Conceptual Data Modeling to resolve it, culminating in the development of SHALUCK.

The SHALUCK Series: A New Identity

With the official release on April 1, the product has been rebranded from its former identity as the “3D Project Management Cloud” to the more encompassing SHALUCK series. This series consists of four core templates that cater to critical manufacturing functions:

1. SHALUCK- Project Management: Streamlines management by consolidating project specifications, 3D CAD data, and supply chain information.
2. SHALUCK- Property Management: Facilitates integration of drawing data per delivery location, enabling knowledge transfer from seasoned veterans to newer employees.
3. SHALUCK- Process Management: Offers real-time visibility into project planning and progress, aiding in on-time delivery.
4. SHALUCK- Management Dashboard: Visualizes key performance indicators and project trajectories to enhance company-wide communication and information sharing.

Additionally, SHALUCK includes an optional RPA feature that allows for seamless integration with existing sales, design, and production management systems.

Proving Value: Validation from Local Partners

In 2025, SHALUCK was tested in a pioneering digital technology project in Chiba Prefecture, involving collaboration with four manufacturing companies specializing in low-volume, high-variety production. Feedback from this validation included positive indications that the system:
  • - Simplified the reuse of historical project data, significantly improving design speed.
  • - Integrated 3D CAD data with project insights, thereby reducing search time dramatically.
  • - Unified management of product structure (BOM), which has aided in sharing invaluable know-how within teams.
  • - Reduced communication burdens between departments via clear visibility of processes and progress.
  • - Offered rapid and low-cost implementation options, minimizing strain on existing workflows.

A representative from one of the pilot firms, a wheelchair manufacturer, highlighted the flexibility of the SHALUCK series, praising its adaptability for custom-order production needs and its affordability and ease of implementation. This aspect is expected to help alleviate production bottlenecks while enhancing information clarity.

Launch Details and Future Outlook

SHALUCK will become available as a cloud-based service starting April 1, 2026, with a monthly subscription model. The pricing structure will allow customers to select individual components, namely project management, property management, process management, and dashboard capabilities. Support for RPA integration, along with initial data migration assistance, will also be offered as supplementary options.
