New Era of Parking Management
Sagamihara Oil Co., based in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, and Times 24 Co. from Shinagawa, Tokyo, are joining forces to enhance parking facilities with innovative technologies. Starting in late February 2026, the companies will implement Times 24's state-of-the-art platform service at the Direct Park Kobuchi location.
About Sagamihara Oil
Founded in 1924, Sagamihara Oil has built a diverse portfolio primarily centered around automotive and energy sectors. While maintaining their roots in petroleum product sales, they have significantly expanded into the parking space, operating approximately 950 time-based parking lots across Kanagawa. Their operational model is adaptable, responding effectively to the local conditions and user behaviors, ensuring that they meet community needs efficiently.
Times 24's Parking Services
Times 24 has been a pioneer in the industry, initiating Japan's first 24-hour unmanned parking service in 1991. Currently, they operate over 19,000 “Times Parking” locations nationwide, blending technology with user convenience to create a seamless parking experience. Their latest service, the Times Platform Service, is designed to assist other businesses in managing parking and car-sharing efficiently, integrating their expertise and unique functionalities to improve operational effectiveness.
Features of the Times Platform Service
The introduction of the Times Platform Service at Direct Park Kobuchi will mark a significant upgrade. The facility will transition from traditional gate-operated parking to a cutting-edge camera-based system that recognizes vehicle license plates. This advancement allows for better data analysis on parking usage, enhancing service quality and user convenience while encouraging continued patronage.
Why This Matters
With the implementation of the Times Platform Service, Direct Park Kobuchi aims to ensure reliable parking management. Users will benefit from improved services, thanks to advanced data operations that prioritize ease of use and accessibility. This partnership signals a broader initiative to expand similar services across other locations as both companies aim to leverage their combined expertise to deliver high-quality parking solutions.
Future Plans
Both Sagamihara Oil and Times 24 are excited about what the future holds. By utilizing their respective strengths and knowledge bases, they are committed to developing high-quality parking facilities that adapt to modern needs. Their goal is not just to provide a parking space but to enrich the overall mobility experience of users.
