Intersolar & Energy Storage North America Holds Successful First Regional Expo in Texas

Intersolar & Energy Storage North America: A Landmark Event in Texas

The inaugural conference and expo hosted by Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) took place last week in Austin, Texas, marking a significant milestone for the solar and energy storage sectors. Over 600 professionals from the realms of solar, storage, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, and manufacturing converged, along with key legislative and regulatory figures, to discuss pressing topics, innovations, and business opportunities in the field.

Wes Doane, Vice President of IESNA, expressed excitement over the positive response and dynamic atmosphere at the expo. The focus was on delivering tailored insights into the Texas energy landscape, nurturing connections that could drive the clean energy sector's growth in the state and beyond. "Our Texas event aimed to equip attendees with relevant local knowledge and opportunities for collaboration," said Doane.

Insights from Industry Leaders

The event featured 60 expert speakers delivering valuable content across three keynotes and 15 sessions. Notably, Thomas Gleeson, Chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas, addressed the state's rising energy demands and the critical need for grid resilience to safeguard future energy reliability.

Other thought leaders like Doug Lewin from Stoic Energy, Beth Garza from the R Street Institute, and Caitlin Smith from Jupiter Power engaged in discussions regarding the impact of expanding data centers on the grid, the role of energy storage during peak demand periods, and initiatives for further enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.

The sessions attracted large audiences, particularly those focused on the value of distributed energy resources, technology advancements, cost reductions, and the necessity for policy reforms and consistent market signals to ensure progress in these areas.

Dynamic Exhibits and Networking Opportunities

The expo featured 41 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest in technology and services, including solar panels, battery management systems, grid services, and more. Key participants included APsystems, EndurEnergy Systems, and prominent associations such as the Texas Solar Energy Society and the Texas Solar Power Association.

Participants were afforded various networking opportunities, including a lively Launch Party and an 'Ask the Experts' lunch, engaging attendees with the chance to connect directly with industry veterans and innovators. The event was enriched by a Brain Break Lounge, sponsored by Smart Energy Decisions, where attendees could relax and recharge.

Looking Ahead: Future Events

Building on the success of this year's event, IESNA Texas is set to return on November 18-19, 2025, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Early planning is already underway, with organizers encouraging attendees to sign up for updates and secure early registrations.

In addition, IESNA's flagship annual event will occur from February 25-27, 2025, at the San Diego Convention Center. This gathering will provide further exploration of national and state-level trends, policies, and technologies shaping the energy landscape, empowering professionals across the sector.

In conclusion, the first regional conference by Intersolar & Energy Storage North America not only elevated the discourse around solar and energy storage but also established a foundation for continued collaboration among industry players in Texas and restorative innovations that promise to accelerate the transition to clean energy.
