Mitsubishi Estate Group Launches EV Charging Stations
Mitsubishi Estate Group is enhancing its sustainability efforts by introducing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at two of its major commercial facilities in Japan. Starting this November, EV charging stations powered by PowerX will be installed at MARK IS Minato Mirai in Kanagawa and MARK IS Fukuoka Momochi, with the aim of supporting the growing demand for electric mobility.
Details of the New EV Charging Stations
On November 4th, the EV charging station at MARK IS Minato Mirai will officially open its doors. Located at the heart of the Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 area, this shopping complex is surrounded by iconic attractions such as the Yokohama Museum of Art and the Landmark Tower. This will mark the first installation of PowerX's EV charging stations within Yokohama City, catering to both local electric vehicle owners and visitors from afar.
The next phase involves the launch of services at MARK IS Fukuoka Momochi, set for late December. This facility is strategically positioned adjacent to the Fukuoka PayPay Dome in the seaside Momochi area, making it an ideal stop for those looking to shop while charging their vehicles. During the charging time, customers can make use of the supermarkets and stores located within the venue.
Each facility will feature a Hypercharger, a battery-based ultra-fast EV charging system developed and manufactured by PowerX. These chargers support a maximum output of 150 kW, enabling ultra-rapid charging for compatible vehicles, thereby providing a reliable solution for EV users who either are visiting from far away or do not have charging facilities at home.
Expansion of EV Infrastructure
The decision to install these charging stations follows previous implementations at other major sites including the Shin Marunouchi Building in Tokyo and the Grand Front Osaka in Osaka. Mitsubishi Estate Group aims to broaden its portfolio of services, driving forward the adoption of EVs in Japan while contributing to a carbon-neutral society.
