Signature Wealth Launches Summer Internship Program for Future Financial Advisors
Signature Wealth Group, a progressive firm specializing in multigenerational wealth management, announced the commencement of its 2025 Summer Internship Program. This initiative is designed to train and inspire a new wave of financial advisors amidst an impending shortage in the industry, as veteran advisors retire, creating a gap in expertise.
Program Overview
The 2025 Summer Internship Program invites four talented rising college seniors majoring in finance to join Signature Wealth's Pawleys Island office for an immersive eight-week journey. The purpose of the program goes beyond mere observation; it aims to deepen the talent pool and proactively tackle the existing advisor shortage in the financial services sector.
Chip Munn, CEO of Signature Wealth, expressed the urgency of this initiative, stating, "The industry is facing a demographic challenge as experienced advisors retire. By nurturing bright, value-oriented students, we assure our clients that Signature Wealth will have a roster of future advisors who are well-prepared, proficient in modern financial tools and understanding of the human dimension of money management."
Comprehensive Curriculum
The structure of the internship is carefully planned to provide a hands-on educational experience. Under the guidance of firm partner John Chidwick, interns will rotate through essential areas of a contemporary advisory practice:
- - Financial Planning Software and Portfolio Construction Tools: Interns will become familiar with the latest advancements in financial planning technology, learning how to utilize these tools effectively.
- - Behavioral Finance: The program will cover key psychological insights behind client decision-making, an essential aspect of financial advising.
- - Compliance Fundamentals: Understanding industry regulations and best practices will be central to the interns’ training, ensuring they are well-versed in compliance requirements.
To enrich their experience, the interns will participate in:
- - Leadership and Professional Development Sessions: These sessions will equip interns with crucial skills in team dynamics, time management, and client communication.
- - Investment Analysis Workshops: Participants will engage in workshops that focus on both fundamental and technical analysis, fostering a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies.
- - Guest Presentations: The interns will benefit from presentations by established Signature advisors, strategic partners, and vendors, providing insights into the industry’s workings.
Meet the 2025 Interns
The program will feature four dedicated interns this summer:
- - Will Mitchell from Furman University
- - Johnny Chidwick from the University of Tennessee
- - Mason Brugh from Ohio University
- - Hampton Munn from Clemson University
Each intern will prepare to take the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, one of the fundamental licensing requirements before graduation, thus gaining a competitive advantage as they prepare to enter the workforce.
John Chidwick underscored the program's objectives, stating, "Our mission is twofold: To give our interns an authentic perspective on navigating families through crucial financial decisions and to provide them with tangible credentials and the confidence needed to excel as they step into their careers."
