Celebrating Feysan Lodde: A Pioneer in Public Transportation

MV Transportation proudly announces that Feysan Lodde, one of its co-founders, will receive a remarkable honor by being inducted into the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Hall of Fame. This honor acknowledges not only her leadership but also her tireless commitment to enhancing accessible public transport solutions over the last several decades.

Founded in 1975 by Alex and Feysan Lodde, MV Transportation was born from a vision aimed at providing safe and reliable mobility services for everyone, particularly those marginalized by conventional transportation systems. Today, it stands as the largest private passenger transportation contracting entity in North America, with partnerships spanning public transit agencies, school boards, and municipal organizations that facilitate rides for millions of users yearly.

Feysan shared her thoughts on the beginning of their journey, stating, "When Alex and I founded MV Transportation in 1975, we had just one van, a shared dream about equity, and a fierce determination to ensure no one was left behind—not our elderly citizens, individuals living with disabilities, or those without personal vehicles. Alex led the way, while I contributed the heart, and together, we created something beyond our wildest dreams. Our goal wasn't to be the biggest private transport company in North America; it was to enact real change."

The APTA Hall of Fame honors distinguished individuals with extensive careers in public transportation who have significantly influenced the industry. APTA advocates for the interests of transit providers, passengers, and professionals through policy advocacy, innovative ideas, and collaborative industry efforts.

Harry Wilson, CEO and Executive Chairman of MV Transportation, praised Feysan’s achievement, saying, "Feysan's induction into the APTA Hall of Fame speaks volumes about her and Alex's monumental vision and contributions to our industry. Over the past five decades, they have set benchmarks for safe, reliable, and accessible transport solutions, motivating all of us at MV to uphold their legacy of innovation and community service."

Feysan will be officially honored during the APTA's 2025 TRANSform Conference this fall. This significant event will gather industry professionals nationwide to celebrate her substantial accomplishment. The induction also coincides with MV's milestone of 50 years, serving as a powerful reminder of the company's roots, achievements, and ongoing mission to enhance transit accessibility for all.

Reflecting on the honor, Feysan noted, "While only one of us could be nominated, this accolade truly belongs to both Alex and me — as well as the countless individuals over the last 50 years who contributed to MV's success when doubters said it couldn't be done. It belongs to every rider, every operator, and every community that envisioned a more inclusive future. We must remember that inclusion should not be an afterthought; it must be the cornerstone of our approach."
