Exciting news for gamers over 60! MATAGI SNIPERS, Japan's pioneering eSports team composed entirely of seniors, is thrilled to announce the upcoming tryouts for the "MATAGI SNIPERS TRYOUT 2025." This is a unique opportunity for passionate individuals aged 60 and above to join a professional gaming team and aim for success in the official VALORANT Challengers Japan tournament.

Tryout Details

The tryout will take place from April 23, 2025, to May 31, 2025, at the MATAGI SNIPERS Headquarters located in Akita City, Akita Prefecture. Participants are invited to demonstrate their skills and enthusiasm for playing VALORANT, a tactical FPS game, as the team hopes to identify new talent for the exciting journey ahead.

While prior experience with VALORANT is not mandatory, candidates with prior gaming experience will be given preference. The team is seeking individuals who are open to coaching and are eager to learn and grow as players. We're looking for participants with strong communication skills in Japanese and the ability to commit to both long-term and collaborative activities.

Eligibility Criteria

- Must be born on or before April 1, 1966.
- Willing to accept guidance from coaches and adhere to team regulations.
- No specific VALORANT rank or agent role requirements.
- Able to communicate effectively in Japanese.
- Capable of engaging in extended activities within or outside Akita Prefecture.
- Understanding of appropriate conduct while representing MATAGI SNIPERS and engaging positively on social media platforms.
- Must adhere to VALORANT's service agreement and the competition rules of VALORANT Challengers Japan.
- A clean record, free of cheating or similar misconduct.
- Willing to collaborate with team sponsors and partner companies.
- Committed to self-improvement through practice and research, both in and out of team settings.
- Must maintain high motivation throughout the activities.
- Familiarity with Discord and the ability to participate online is beneficial but not necessary.

Important Information

Please note that MATAGI SNIPERS will not cover any travel or accommodation expenses incurred during the tryouts. After the application period, selected candidates will be contacted within 14 business days via email for further steps, including interviews and tryouts. All participation and activity schedules will be determined based on the availability of team members.
