Explore the Richness of Traditional Culture in Shibuya
Shibuya, known for its vibrant youth culture and bustling scene, is now embracing its traditional roots through the innovative event,
Shibu Art & Walk 2025. Hosted by Bunkamura, a prominent cultural facility in Shibuya, this initiative aims to reintroduce participants to the delicate beauty of Japanese culture, art, and history.
What is Shibu Art & Walk 2025?
Shibu Art & Walk 2025 is a walking stamp rally that invites artistic exploration and cultural appreciation from October 3 to November 9, 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to visit various partner facilities within Shibuya, including museums and cultural sites, where they can engage with traditional art and learn about the local history of the area.
The Perfect Opportunity to Experience Japanese Art
This year, following the success of last year's event, visitors can look forward to an exciting array of programs that will deepen their understanding of Japanese art and culture. The event features a number of museums, such as the
Toguri Museum of Art,
Yamatane Museum of Art,
The Ota Memorial Museum of Art, and others, where attendees can experience inspiring artworks and participate in cultural activities.
Additionally, those who collect stamps from two or more participating venues will have the chance to win one of 50 invitations to a special talk event on December 5, 2025, focusing on the fascinating fusion of Ukiyo-e (woodblock print) and traditional performing arts such as Noh and Kyogen.
Unique Collaborations for an Enriching Experience
The event also promotes local cuisine with special offers for participants. For instance, visitors can present the specially designed leaflet at the
TORQUE SPICE & HERB, TABLE & COURT café within Shibuya Stream and enjoy a 10% discount on their meals, making it easy to savor delightful dishes inspired by the vibrant surroundings.
Furthermore, on October 12, a unique initiative titled
Shibuya Onsen will celebrate the essence of relaxation with foot baths and cultural exchanges, showcasing special goods and PR efforts from the Izu Peninsula's local areas.
Special Workshop Experience
Another highlight of the event is a workshop in partnership with
Shibu Onsen, where participants can engage in the craft of traditional Japanese
Hina Tsuri, a decorative display with a long-standing heritage. This engaging workshop allows attendees to connect with local artisans and learn about the cultural significance of this craft while enjoying a social atmosphere.
