Kyorin University's Health Science Faculty Open Campus
On June 6th and 7th, Kyorin University welcomed nearly 2,000 visitors to its Health Science Faculty Open Campus at the Inokashira campus. This annual event is designed for high school students and their parents, providing a vibrant opportunity to explore the various academic programs offered at the university.
During this two-day event, attendees participated in a variety of activities including detailed information sessions about each department, one-on-one consultations with faculty members and current students, hands-on workshops, panel displays, mock classes, and tours of the practical training facilities. Additionally, nursing students had a unique opportunity to participate in a one-hour bus tour to the Mitaka campus, which serves as the main location for their program.
Many participants enthusiastically engaged in discussions with faculty during the individual consultations, asking about training placements and the coursework necessary for obtaining national qualifications. Others took the chance to chat casually with current students about campus life, or enjoyed hands-on experiences with laboratory equipment in practical sessions. Overall, participants had a personalized and informative experience at the Open Campus.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. One high school student mentioned, "I attended the Open Campus last year as a freshman, and it was great to tour the Mitaka campus this time." Another commented, "I realized how significant the associated hospital's facilities are for practical training." There were also sentiments of gratitude, as one participant shared, "It was wonderful to connect with a senior from the same high school," while another noted, "The professor was very kind and provided thorough explanations during our consultation."
The next Open Campus is scheduled for August 1st and 2nd, 2023. It operates on a pre-registration basis, with varying schedules depending on the department. For more details, please visit the
