Ritchie Peng's Insights
In his opening speech,
Ritchie Peng, Director of the ICT Strategy and Business Development at Huawei, emphasized the importance of competitions in achieving educational goals and inspiring innovation. "We continuously develop competition themes in line with our vision of an Intelligent World by 2030, helping students master skills in cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence to facilitate societal progress. The innovation competition focuses on ecological development and digital inclusion, motivating participants to address real-world challenges using ICT in fields such as agriculture, healthcare, and education."
As digital transformation accelerates worldwide, the demand for qualified experts in areas like AI, big data, and cybersecurity continues to rise. However, a growing talent shortage in these critical fields poses significant challenges. To help address this talent gap, Huawei's ICT competition offers multiple categories, including practical applications, innovations, and programming, along with initiatives fostering collaboration between industry and academia and developing tailored curricula. These efforts aim to equip students with in-demand skills and nurture a new generation of tech-savvy individuals poised to excel in an increasingly intelligent and digital world.

During this year’s competition, Huawei also organized an
AI Summit focused on accelerating education transformation, where experts explored AI's key role in smart education. Additionally, Huawei officially announced the capabilities of its AI Smart Platform, which streamlines and enhances usage for educators and students, marking a significant step forward in the digitalization of education.
