Saniyah Hall Honored with Naismith All-America Jersey at SPIRE Academy Ceremony

Saniyah Hall Receives Naismith All-America Jersey

On April 30, 2026, a significant ceremony took place at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, where Saniyah Hall, a renowned high school basketball player, was presented with her Naismith Girls' High School All-America First Team jersey by Eric Oberman, a representative from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. This honor celebrates Hall as one of only five players nationally to receive such recognition, underscoring her exceptional talent and hard work.

The event was not just about Hall; it highlighted the overall achievements of SPIRE Academy's athletes across various sports disciplines, including men's and women's basketball, soccer, swimming, track, and wrestling. The ceremony was a testament to the academy's growth and commitment to excellence in multi-sport training.

Saniyah Hall's senior season has been remarkable, earning her First Team All-America recognition from prestigious organizations such as the Naismith and MaxPreps, and a spot on the McDonald's All-American First Team. She even claimed the title of MVP at the McDonald's All-American Game, one of the most coveted awards in women's high school basketball. Earlier in the year, she was recognized as the Female High School Athlete of the Year by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, solidifying her reputation as a powerhouse in her sport.

Hall expressed her dedication to personal growth beyond mere statistics, stating, "I had already built a strong foundation and proven what I could do, but I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to grow in ways that don't always show up in stats... It was about elevating everything I already had."

While the ceremony honored Hall, it also marked the achievements of many other SPIRE athletes. The women's basketball team finished their season with an outstanding record of 20-2 and was named national runner-up. Among the men, standout athlete King Gibson also received accolades, being named a First Team Junior All-American by MaxPreps and earning additional honors in the league.

In addition to basketball, SPIRE athletes shone in wrestling, where Jason Dube won the National High School Coaches Association national championship at 152 pounds and earned a spot as a U17 USA World Team Alternate. In soccer, John Robertson showcased his skills by competing for the U20 Turks and Caicos National Team, while Sammy Harvey made waves by signing with the Seattle Sounders soccer club.

The track and field program also saw incredible success, as several athletes received All-American honors at the Indoor Track and Field All-American meet. Jenna Marie Thomas excelled in the 60m hurdles, while Giulia Sironi triumphed in both the triple jump and long jump. The relay teams also added to the accolades with impressive performances that included national championships.

SPIRE Academy’s swimming teams performed admirably in the Eastern Prep School Championships as well, with the boys' team securing third place, the girls finishing eighth, and the combined team landing fifth overall. This highlights SPIRE's comprehensive approach to athletic training, fostering talent across diverse sports.

CEO Steve Sanders remarked on the collective achievements of SPIRE athletes, stating, "What we are celebrating today tells you something about where this program is. Saniyah's ceremony was a big moment, and so many athletes from different sports are thriving."

This occasion serves as a reminder of SPIRE Academy's overarching mission: to develop talented student-athletes capable of excelling in multiple sports at a national level. The school offers summer camps for aspiring athletes who wish to train alongside elite coaches in the same facilities that produced the champions honored at the ceremony.
