Portland, Oregon, is set to host its very first Craft Chocolate Festival, organized by Ranger Chocolate Co. from October 3 to 5, 2025. The event promises to be a delightful three-day experience for chocolate enthusiasts, showcasing the best that the local craft chocolate scene has to offer.
Venue and Schedule
This inaugural festival will take place at the historic Olympic Mills building, located at 107 SE Washington St, Portland, OR 97214. The venue, known for its rich history and vibrant atmosphere, is the perfect setting for this celebration of chocolate artistry. The festival kicks off with a
VIP Kickoff Party on the evening of October 3, running from 5 PM to 7 PM, where attendees will have the chance to meet an array of talented chocolatiers and taste exquisite small bites crafted by local food artisans.
On
Saturday and Sunday, the bustling Market will be open to the public from 12 PM to 5 PM. Attendees can enjoy tastings from over 30 local bean-to-bar makers and chocolatiers, providing a fantastic opportunity to explore a variety of flavors and products. The first 200 attendees will receive complimentary swag bags filled with chocolate-related goodies, and children aged 8 and under can attend for free with a paying adult.
Engaging Activities
Throughout the weekend, there will be exciting programming, including maker spotlights where attendees can hear directly from the creators about their craft. Special private sessions and media features will further enrich the visitor experience, making this festival not just about tasting chocolate, but also about connecting with the passion and innovation behind each product.
A Focus on Community and Sustainability
George Domurot, the founder and CEO of Ranger Chocolate Co. and the festival's headline sponsor, expressed excitement about the event: "Portland has a vibrant craft chocolate scene, and this festival is an opportunity to bring together the best makers, innovators, and enthusiasts to celebrate the artistry and passion behind chocolate." The festival is designed to emphasize ethical sourcing, sustainability, and the creativity that flourishes within Portland's food culture.
The event has garnered positive community feedback, with hearty thanks extended to organizations such as Prosper Portland and PNC Bank for their support. As the event aims to honor not just the chocolatiers, but also the cacao farmers and the entire artisanal food ecosystem, it stands as a valuable addition to Portland's cultural landscape.
