Moldova's Commitment to Digital Innovation



In a significant stride towards digital transformation, the Moldova e-Governance Agency (AGE) has joined the second round of Large-Scale Pilot Projects (LSP) for the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI). Announced on March 3, 2025, this initiative highlights Moldova's ambition to align with European standards while reinforcing its reputation as a forward-thinking digital nation.

A Step Forward for Moldova



AGE's participation in the EUDI pilot program marks a pivotal opportunity for Moldova to enhance its digital landscape. As part of the WE BUILD consortium selected by the European Commission, Moldova is set to play an integral role in the development and testing of secure government-to-business solutions that will integrate digital wallets with public services across the EU. This initiative not only demonstrates Moldova's commitment to digital innovation but also showcases its rapidly growing IT sector, which is increasingly becoming a cornerstone of the national economy.

Established to foster digital evolution, the Moldova Innovation Technology Park serves as a prime example of this growth. Hosting over 2,100 companies from more than 40 countries, this tech hub contributes approximately 5% to the national GDP, thanks in part to its competitive 7% fixed income tax rate. The favorable business environment there has attracted top technology companies, further solidifying Moldova's status as a regional digital center.

Pioneering Identity Solutions



AGE’s efforts will be central to the development of robust and reliable digital identity solutions that facilitate seamless access to a range of public services. The initiative emphasizes the exchange of best practices among EU countries while promoting the widespread adoption of digital identity wallets for both public and private electronic services.
