Advanced Manufacturing Chain at CISCE Focuses on Low-Altitude Economy and Innovations

The Advanced Manufacturing Chain at CISCE: Enhancing Efficiency and Innovation

The Advanced Manufacturing Chain section at the recent China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) has gained notable attention with its theme of "Making Production More Efficient." This dynamic segment highlights the comprehensive value chain of manufacturing, extending from research and development and design to the use of advanced materials, critical components, smart manufacturing applications, and high-end equipment.

One major focus of CISCE this year is the low-altitude economy, showcased in a dedicated 1,000-square-meter area. This exhibit features over 30 established companies and startups from regions such as Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shenzhen. Here, complete aeronautical systems, critical components, and real-world applications including emergency response and intelligent logistics, are on display, signaling a transformation in the sector towards commercial deployment.

Airbus is prominent among the exhibitors, joined by 15 leading global aerospace manufacturers. They cover the aviation value chain, showcasing everything from advanced materials and fasteners to aero-structures and operational services, as well as composite material recycling processes. A significant event during the expo was the forum on "Financing that Drives the Aviation Industry," co-hosted by Airbus, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). This gathering aimed to foster collaboration between stakeholders across both the aviation and finance sectors.

A new segment on materials innovations has caught the spotlight, showcasing remarkable advancements in material technology. For instance, Jilin Chemical Fiber has introduced its ultra-high-strength carbon fiber of grade T1200, currently the strongest carbon fiber produced on an industrial scale globally. This material holds potential applications ranging from commercial aircraft manufacturing to deep space exploration. Sinochem has also unveiled its comprehensive suite of materials for humanoid robots, including flexible biomimetic skin and tendon cables for robotic hands.

Additionally, Aluminum Corporation of China is presenting advanced materials and components, such as aluminum materials for the C919 passenger aircraft, lightweight materials for vehicle bodies, infrared germanium lenses, special alumina, and high-performance copper products. International exhibitors like Siemens and Honeywell are showcasing their products in China, which include industrial AI agents, smart decision-making support systems, and low-carbon technologies, reflecting the ongoing integration of multinational companies into the Chinese manufacturing ecosystem.

Sector collaboration emerged as another key theme of this year’s expo. Gree Group made its debut at CISCE with exhibits focusing on smart factories and precision manufacturing. Similarly, Wuliangye Group transitioned from the Green Agriculture Chain to the Advanced Manufacturing Chain, where they are presenting products that extend beyond their core spirits business. These include precision machine tools, automotive parts, and ultra-high voltage insulators, indicating their strategic expansion into advanced manufacturing.

This expo serves as a crucial platform for specialized SMEs and industry leaders, strengthening collaboration and resilience within the supply chain. The initiatives outlined in the Advanced Manufacturing Chain section at CISCE not only propel efficiency and innovation but also highlight the importance of international cooperation in fostering growth and development across industries. As sectors converge and evolve, the implications for the future of manufacturing and its role in a global economy continue to unfold, promising exciting developments ahead.
