Luup Partners with IVS2026
Luup, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo and led by CEO Daiki Okai, is proudly collaborating with the upcoming IVS2026, taking place from July 1 to July 3, 2026, in Kyoto. This marks their second consecutive year as an official partner of this significant event.
Background of the Event
Luup’s mission focuses on creating infrastructure that can transform urban areas into convenient transportation hubs. By rolling out its micro-mobility sharing service,
LUUP, they aim to effectively tackle mobility issues across Japan. In the Kyoto area, they launched their service in November 2021, promoting not only everyday transportation for locals but also diversifying and dispersing travel routes for tourists. This initiative plays a vital role in securing daily mobility for citizens while alleviating the issue of overtourism, thereby improving the transportation infrastructure throughout the city.
This year's IVS2026 will again showcase the largest startup conference in Japan, held in the scenic city of Kyoto. To ensure accessibility and comfort for participants, Luup will set up 120 dedicated ports around the primary venue,
Miyakomesse. These ports will serve both as transportation hubs for getting to and from the event and as practical solutions for exploring Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage.
Special Offers for Visitors
To enhance convenience for attendees, Luup will also distribute a special promotion during the event. Anyone registering for the LUUP app during this period will receive a
30-minute ride coupon valid for use within the Kyoto area, redeemable up to three times. This initiative not only supports movement during the conference but also encourages visitors to utilize LUUP for their summer sightseeing trips in Kyoto, thus contributing to lower congestion in urban transport.
