Disney and Stitch Spread Holiday Cheer to Families Worldwide

Disney and Stitch Bring Holiday Magic to Kids and Families

This holiday season, Disney has embarked on an inspiring global initiative to sprinkle happiness and joy through its Disney Holiday Magic Tour. With beloved character Stitch from Lilo & Stitch at the helm, Disney has successfully delivered toys and surprises to children in over 20 cities worldwide.

The holiday campaign launched on November 10, featuring the premiere of “A Disney Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever,” marking the beginning of a series of enchanting events and programs geared towards creating magical holiday memories. This year, Disney has emphasized the importance of giving back, urging families to participate in the movement to “Make Someone's Holiday Magic.”

Stitch is central to the festivities, having worked hard throughout the year, albeit mischief led him to Santa's “naughty list.” To redeem himself, he has transformed into a cheerful ambassador of holiday joy by joining Disney VoluntEARS at various community events, schools, children’s hospitals, and non-profit organizations.

Highlights of the Disney Holiday Magic Tour

The Disney Holiday Magic Tour has created unforgettable moments, making stops in notable locations. Here are just a few highlights:

  • - Anaheim, CA: At Disneyland Resort, Stitch teamed up with U.S. Marines and Disney VoluntEARS to gather toys for local families, supporting Toys for Tots.
  • - Chicago: At Lurie Children's Hospital, kids received toys and festive Hawaiian leis, along with a special screening of Lilo & Stitch to celebrate the season.
  • - Washington D.C.: Stitch made an appearance at a Marine Toys for Tots event, where he helped collect hundreds of toys for families in need.
  • - The Bahamas: Stitch surprised students at two local schools with gifts and festive celebrations, bringing joy and laughter to the children during the holidays.
  • - New York: Stitch thrilled Broadway audiences by joining the cast of the musical Aladdin, encouraging viewers to participate in the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive.

Throughout the holiday magic coverage, Disney's commitment to corporate social responsibility shines through. Lisa Haines, SVP of Disney Corporate Social Responsibility, mentions, “The Disney Holiday Magic Tour demonstrates how our connection with Disney stories and characters fosters smiles and positively impacts communities.”

Each stop on the tour has also been enhanced by local celebrity participation, making events more memorable for families and kids. From delighting hospital-bound children to participating in large-scale toy drives, Stitch has been a beacon of hope and cheer this season.
