Upcoming Enhancements at Sunshine 60
In a significant move towards improving the work environment for its tenants, Sunshine City Corporation, based in Toshima, Tokyo, has announced its plans to renovate the common areas of its iconic office building, Sunshine 60. This extensive redesign aims to enhance the usability and satisfaction of approximately 12,000 office workers in the vicinity by creating a state-of-the-art worker support area, set to be the largest in the Ikebukuro area.
Project Overview
Beginning in March 2026, renovations will cover around 800 tsubo (approximately 2,640 square meters) across the 4th and 6th floors. This comprehensive redesign includes a dedicated tenant cafeteria and a large lounge space, which will successively open in the summer of 2026. The initiative aligns with Sunshine 60's goal of being a competitive office destination, especially as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2028.

Since its inception in 1978, Sunshine 60 has evolved, providing relevant functions to adapt to the changing needs of its tenants. Feedback from an employee survey highlighted the need for diversified workspaces and relief from crowded recess areas, emphasizing the growing importance of
