Kvantify Launches Qrunch: A Game Changer in Quantum Computing for Chemical Innovation

Kvantify Unveils Qrunch: Revolutionizing Quantum Computing for the Chemical Industry

On November 19, 2025, Kvantify, a Danish leader in quantum computing software, launched its flagship product Qrunch during the SC25 conference in St. Louis. Qrunch aims to make quantum computing accessible for industries involved in chemical and biological engineering, driving significant innovation and advancements.

Quantum computing has long held the promise of revolutionizing research in fields such as pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. However, three primary barriers have historically hindered widespread enterprise adoption: limited accessibility for non-specialists, insufficient scalability for real-world applications, and high costs associated with the technology. Qrunch addresses these challenges head-on, offering a platform that simplifies complex quantum processes through an intuitive interface.

With Qrunch, domain scientists can build and deploy quantum algorithms without needing extensive knowledge of quantum mechanics, drastically reducing the time required for workflow development compared to conventional hardware programming. Users can now focus on solving scientific problems rather than grappling with intricate quantum gate sequences.

Nikolaj Zinner, CSO at Kvantify, explained that a major advantage of Qrunch is its specific focus on quantum computing tailored for chemistry. Traditional quantum software often utilizes a mere 10-30% of available qubits in quantum processors. However, Qrunch employs chemistry-specific strategies that allow it to efficiently utilize up to 80 qubits, resulting in a 3-4 times improvement in problem-solving capacity.

This leap in capability is poised to significantly shorten project timelines and broaden the range of molecular systems that can be effectively modeled. Lars Olsen, Senior Department Manager at Novonesis, remarked on the potential implications for understanding biological processes: "With this kind of calculation and subsequent analysis of how enzymes behave during catalysis, we can gain a deeper understanding of fundamental biological processes," he stated. Such insights promise to enhance the efficiency of existing enzyme products.

Qrunch supports a wide range of current gate-based quantum computers, including those accessible via Amazon Braket, Amazon Web Services' quantum computing service. Moreover, it is closely integrated within the European quantum ecosystem, collaborating with IQM Quantum Computers, a leader in superconducting quantum computing.

"High-performance quantum software is vital for the commercialization of quantum computing, and we believe Kvantify Qrunch exemplifies this. We are excited to collaborate with Kvantify to enhance the European quantum landscape and explore synergies between hardware and software,” expressed Jan Goetz, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of IQM Quantum Computers.

As Kvantify positions Qrunch as a transformative technology for computational chemistry, it marks an important step toward unlocking the full potential of quantum computing in tackling complex scientific challenges. This shift could pave the way for advancements that benefit society as a whole, from accelerated drug discovery to innovative materials science solutions.
