Costa Rica Set to Host Major International Business Event with Over 400 Buyers and Investors

Welcome to the Costa Rica Trade & Investment Summit

Costa Rica is gearing up to host the largest international business event in the region from September 1-4, 2026. The Costa Rica Trade & Investment Summit will bring together over 400 buyers and investors from more than 40 countries, marking an exciting opportunity for the nation to showcase its export potential and investment opportunities.

The summit is organized by the Promotora del Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER), and its venue will be the Costa Rica Convention Center. This prestigious event will connect international buyers with Costa Rican exporters and specialized suppliers. It serves as a strategic platform aimed at promoting exports while attracting foreign direct investment.

What to Expect at the Summit

Participants can look forward to a packed agenda that includes over 3,200 business meetings, exhibition showcases, and tailored investment agendas. Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in specialized conferences and visit free trade zones, business parks, and various productive regions located both within and outside the Greater Metropolitan Area.

Laura López, CEO of PROCOMER, emphasized the event's value lies in the unique opportunities it offers. "The first edition confirmed strong interest in what Costa Rica has to offer. This year, we aim for buyers to find reliable suppliers, investors to assess conditions for establishing operations, and multinational companies to identify new local capabilities," she stated. The goal is for every participant to leave the event equipped with valuable information, relevant contacts, and actionable opportunities.

Diverse Export Offering

The event will showcase a wide range of Costa Rican products and services, particularly focused on sectors such as agribusiness, specialized manufacturing, digital technologies, and creative industries. Meetings will be customized based on each participant's business needs to facilitate effective connections and create real business opportunities.

The inaugural Costa Rica Trade & Investment Summit held in 2025 was a resounding success. It attracted 337 international buyers, 170 investors, and more than 1,280 exporting companies and suppliers. Over 3,600 business meetings were generated during this inaugural event, showcasing the ability of Costa Rica to host high-caliber business opportunities.

Arriving at this second edition, Costa Rica boasts significant business capabilities. The country is home to over 1,000 companies involved in foreign direct investment and accounts for more than 312,000 jobs related to this sector. Companies are encouraged to reinvest, reflecting a strong sense of confidence in the local business climate.

The export landscape is robust, with services leading accounting for 34% of total exports, followed by medical devices at 31% and agriculture at 11%. In terms of goods, Costa Rica achieved a remarkable $22.855 billion in exports in 2025, a 14% increase compared to the previous year.
