SHIFT80 Achieves 245% of Monthly Supporter Recruitment Goal

SHIFT80's Latest Campaign Success

In a remarkable display of community support, SHIFT80, a non-profit organization located in Koto-ku, Tokyo, has announced a tremendous achievement in its recent campaign aimed at recruiting monthly supporters. The campaign, launched in September 2025, primarily focused on providing educational support to 150 middle school students living in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya.

Initially, the organization set a modest target of recruiting 20 monthly supporters. However, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of individuals, SHIFT80 concluded the campaign with an impressive total of 49 supporters, further increasing the number to 56 by October 2, 2025. This means that the organization has reached a staggering 245% of its original target.

Overview of the Campaign

The campaign, titled "To support the wish of 'wanting to go to school tomorrow,'" aimed to empower Kenyan students by providing sustainable educational assistance. The monthly support program, known as Hope Partner, allows individuals to contribute as little as 500 yen (approximately $5) per month to ensure that these students have a safe and supportive learning environment.

In Kibera, schools face numerous challenges such as a lack of teaching materials and qualified teachers, making it incredibly difficult to maintain educational institutions and encourage students to attend classes consistently. SHIFT80 addresses these issues head-on by offering assistance in various forms, including operational support for schools, meal programs, teaching materials, and scholarships aimed at nurturing a conducive learning atmosphere.

The significant growth in monthly supporters not only amplifies the organization's mission but also lays a strong foundation for ongoing educational support in the region.

Looking Ahead

Following this successful campaign, SHIFT80 has set ambitious goals for the future, aiming to increase the number of monthly supporters to 100 by 2026. This expansion is crucial for ensuring that the organization continues to create a sustainable social impact through education. By establishing a stable support base, SHIFT80 aspires to provide an environment where even more children can feel secure and motivated to continue their education.

Representative's Comments

Migi Sakata, the representative director of SHIFT80, expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the campaign. "We are incredibly thankful for the number of supporters that exceeded our expectations. The monthly supporter program is essential in ensuring that children can continue their education without interruption. We will utilize the contributions effectively to create an environment where children can learn confidently. Each individual's participation is a force for changing the future, and we are committed to moving forward with this belief in mind," said Sakata.
