Samsung Launches New Trade-in Service
Samsung Electronics Japan has announced the start of a new service called the “Samsung Trade-in Service,” available on its online shop. This initiative allows customers to sell their pre-owned Samsung Galaxy devices without needing to buy new products. The purpose of the Samsung Trade-in Service is to contribute to a circular economy and improve the market value of the Samsung Galaxy products through trade-in and recycling programs.
Overview of the Samsung Trade-in Service
The Samsung Trade-in Service enables customers to sell their used Samsung Galaxy devices. The value of the traded-in devices will be credited to their Samsung account in the form of Samsung Credit, which can be used for future purchases at the Samsung online store. To utilize this service, customers can check the estimated price for their pre-owned devices on the 'Trade-in / Buyback Service' page of the Samsung online shop.
Once a customer applies for the program, they must ship their device using a collection kit provided by Samsung. The devices collected will be graded on their condition and categorized into four distinct grades: A-grade, B-grade, C-grade, and Recycle. Each grade will correspond to a specific monetary value credited as Samsung Credit for future purchases.
Eligible Devices: The Samsung Trade-in Service is available for selected models of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. Please note that the list of eligible devices may change over time, and overseas models are not included.
The collection and assessment of used products will be managed by Likewize Japan, a partner company of Samsung.
Update on Samsung's Trade-in Service
In addition to the new trade-in service, Samsung has updated its 'Samsung Trade-in Service' for customers purchasing Samsung Galaxy products. This revised program allows customers to receive the trade-in amount as a refund during the payment process, making it easier and more economical to acquire new Samsung Galaxy devices. About Samsung Credit
Samsung Credit is a digital credit earned through the utilization of the trade-in service. It can be used for purchasing any product available on the Samsung online store, starting from as low as 1 yen. It is important to note that Samsung Credit is different from Samsung Reward Points, which are awarded based on the payment amount for purchases on the Samsung online shop.
Furthermore, Samsung Credit cannot be used for purchases outside of the Samsung online shop or for cashing out or transferring to someone else. The validity of Samsung Credit is five years from the date it is earned.
In conclusion, Samsung's new trade-in service not only provides consumers with an opportunity to sell their old devices but also reinforces the company’s commitment to eco-friendly practices and a more sustainable market approach. As consumers increasingly focus on eco-consciousness, Samsung's initiatives demonstrate their innovative strategies in marrying technology with sustainability.
