AM Green and DP World Unite for Green Energy

In a significant move towards sustainability, AM Green, a prominent figure in the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, has announced a strategic partnership with DP World, a worldwide leader in logistics. Their collaboration aims to foster India's evolution into a central hub for green fuel exports, specifically targeting a total of 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green fuels.

This joint effort, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in December, focuses on developing essential logistics and storage infrastructures necessary for global exportation. The partnership is set to enhance India’s role in the worldwide decarbonization agenda by ensuring streamlined exports to key consumption markets.

Infrastructure Development

By establishing robust port infrastructures in AM Green’s designated industrial clusters, the collaboration aims to facilitate the international trade of one million tonnes of green ammonia alongside another million tonnes of green methanol. Activities include:

• - Port Infrastructure Development: Building necessary facilities within zero-net industrial clusters to support global exports.
• - Bunkering Infrastructure: Setting up bunkering sites in Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia to cater to AM Green's output of green ammonia and methanol.
• - Terminal Infrastructure: Establishing strategic terminal facilities across the European Union, Far East, and the UAE to pave the way for a carbon-neutral supply chain critical for transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Renewable Energy Commitment

AM Green is aggressively investing in renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), green hydrogen, and various biochemicals. With an ambitious goal to reach a production capacity of 5 MTPA by 2030, AM Green is on track to considerably aid India's zero-net objectives and contribute to global decarbonization efforts.

A landmark decision for a green ammonia project, also with an output of 1 MTPA in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, reinforces this vision. Mahesh Kolli, the founder of both AM Green and Greenko Group, expressed the determination to cement India’s status as a green energy exporter through world-class infrastructure and sustainable practices. He noted, “This partnership will not only enhance our capability to export these sustainable fuels but also bolster the global green supply chain.”

Yuvraj Narayan, DP World's Senior Vice President and CFO, highlighted the company's commitment to facilitating sustainable supply chains. He stated that the collaboration leverages their expertise in logistics and infrastructure to ensure efficient distribution of clean fuels and chemicals while playing a significant role in achieving carbon reduction goals. The aim is to transform global trade practices, fostering an overall benefit for economies and societies.
