A Community Celebration at North Park
Blue Zones Project Riverside is thrilled to announce the Moai™ Launch Party, set for April 18th from 10 AM to 12 PM at North Park. This event aims to promote community engagement and physical wellness, aligning with the project's mission to foster a healthier lifestyle among residents.
Moai, which means 'meeting for a common purpose' in Okinawa, Japan, focuses on creating support circles that encourage social interaction and shares similar goals for wellbeing. Inspired by this tradition, the Blue Zones Project Riverside has developed 28 diverse groups tailored to various interests, available weekly across the city. Attendees will have the chance to join free, ten-week sessions that include everything from yoga and hiking to book clubs and social gatherings.
Why Attend?
This vibrant launch party will not only showcase the Moai groups but also provide a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Participants can enjoy complimentary acai bowls and coffee while experiencing live music, creating the perfect backdrop for conversation and connection. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to enhance their social networks, explore healthier lifestyle choices, or simply enjoy a morning of community spirit.
Erin Edwards, Executive Director of Blue Zones Project Riverside, highlights, "Healthy behaviors are contagious. Our vision for these Moai groups is to meet Riversiders where they are in their well-being goals. No matter where, no matter when, there's a Moai for everyone."
