Yamaha and CAMPFIRE Introduce Innovative Crowdfunding for Vocaloid Dreams

Yamaha and CAMPFIRE Launch 'VOCALOID FAN-ding'

Yamaha Corporation, known for its innovative music technology, has teamed up with CAMPFIRE, Japan's largest crowdfunding platform, to enter the exciting world of Vocaloid creation. Starting from November 25, 2025, they will debut a groundbreaking service named 'VOCALOID FAN-ding,' designed to transform the dreams of aspiring creators into reality by helping them develop their own Vocaloid characters.

What is VOCALOID?

Introduced in 2003, Vocaloid is a voice synthesis technology created by Yamaha that allows users to generate vocal parts for music by simply inputting lyrics and melody. This remarkable technology has empowered countless creators, known as VocaloP (Vocaloid Producers), to compose songs in various genres. Thanks to the incredible support from fans and creators alike, the Vocaloid culture has flourished, inspiring related events that continuously gather enthusiastic crowds.

A New Era of Support for Vocaloid Creators

Recognizing the potential to enhance Vocaloid culture further, Yamaha and CAMPFIRE collaborated to establish VOCALOID FAN-ding. This new service offers comprehensive support to creators, covering various aspects such as fundraising for voice banks, illustrations, and demo songs. Additionally, it facilitates matchmaking with VocaloP and manages the production, packaging, and shipping of rewards. By connecting character IP businesses that aspire to become Vocaloids with supportive fans, this initiative aims to nurture the future of Vocaloid culture, ensuring it continues to thrive.

The First Characters to Join the Challenge

To kick off this innovative endeavor, three unique characters have agreed to collaborate on creating Vocaloid voice banks: Adachi Rei, Tsumugi Shion, and Akatsuki Ruki. Let's take a closer look at these exciting characters:

1. Adachi Rei

Developed by Mechanical Girl LLC, Adachi Rei is a life-sized humanoid robot standing 169 cm tall and weighing 18 kg. She is known for her distinctive 100% synthetic voice, created from pure sine waves. Her UTAU voice source is available for singing, and a reading option powered by A.I.VOICE has also been released.

2. Tsumugi Shion

Meet Tsumugi Shion, a bright 16-year-old girl infused with youthful charm. She was created as a voice synthesis character under the audio-focused content label G's Koeken and is currently featured in the web radio program Koto Radio 3rd Season, airing monthly on Nico Nico Douga. Her birthday falls on May 10.

3. Akatsuki Ruki

Described as a “demon wanting to become an angel,” Akatsuki Ruki is a Vsinger creator who actively engages her audience through music on YouTube. She also showcases her talents in Live2D modeling and illustration, consistently participating in live events. As a next-generation artist, she seamlessly integrates music, visuals, and design while encouraging creativity with her motto, “To become an angel someday, I create joyfully each day.”

The Future of Vocaloid Culture

The launch of VOCALOID FAN-ding marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between technology and art, demonstrating Yamaha and CAMPFIRE's commitment to supporting creative expression through modern mediums. By fostering community around Vocaloid characters, this initiative promises to inspire a new generation of creators who want to bring their dreams to life.
