With new entrants such as BeagleBoard.org, Chengdu Jingrong Lianchuang Technology, Embedd, openEuler, Savoir-faire Linux, SevenLab, and Schneider Electric joining as Silver members, the project's growth is aimed at creating a more robust and reliable framework for developers.

Launched as an open-source project under the Linux Foundation in 2016, the Zephyr Project focuses on developing a secure and flexible Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) tailored for resource-constrained devices. Kate Stewart, Vice President of Dependable Embedded Systems at the Linux Foundation, remarked on how this initiative exemplifies the power of open-source communities in producing dependable systems that meet the industry’s increasing demands for security and innovation. With more than 900 boards supported, the RTOS accommodates a wide array of embedded microcontrollers from Arm, RISC-V, and others, showcasing its adaptability and broad chipset support.

The latest updates from Zephyr were made possible by nearly 800 developers worldwide who contributed to the 4.3 release, introducing modern USB stack capabilities, enhanced power management features, and expanded industrial protocol support. Savoir-faire Linux, an open-source software company, has emphasized its belief in the project's potential for innovation in mission-critical applications and smart energy systems.
