Japan Heart Activity Report Meeting 2025
On May 14, 2026, Japan Heart, a prominent international medical NGO headquartered in Taito, Tokyo, will host an event titled
Japan Heart Activity Report Meeting 2025 – Dr. Mariko Kakazu Speaks on Medical Support Bridged by Contributions. The event will begin at 7 PM and is a platform for expressing gratitude to supporters while showcasing how their donations have been utilized in the field of healthcare.
Dr. Mariko Kakazu, the head of pediatrics in Cambodia and a long-term volunteer physician, will take the stage. Over the past nine years since 2017, Dr. Kakazu has been at the frontline of providing medical care without compensation, focusing on treating childhood cancer, an area significantly impacted by high infant mortality rates in developing countries. Her dedication was highlighted during the TBS/MBS program
Jōnetsu Tairiku aired in December 2025, which resonated with audiences and showcased her role as a key figure in pediatric medical care in Asia.
This upcoming event marks Dr. Kakazu’s first opportunity to share her reflections and achievements upon returning to Japan after her extensive voluntary work. Although she plans to continue her involvement with Japan Heart, this moment represents a significant milestone, allowing her to express her heartfelt gratitude to supporters who have made her work possible.
The fiscal year 2025 has been particularly eventful for Japan Heart, starting with the chaos following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar on March 28, which necessitated a response and support from various fronts. In October 2025, Japan Heart opened the
Japan Heart Asia Pediatric Medical Center, a fully free hospital with a capacity of 200 beds, built through donations totaling over 800 million yen. This monumental achievement will also be highlighted during the activity report meeting, including live broadcasts from the new hospital and video messages from various projects operated by Japan Heart in Myanmar and domestically.
The event aims to convey gratitude for the support received, underscoring the importance of continuing efforts collaborative efforts to save lives. It aspires to prompt further engagement among supporters, reinforcing the commitment to a shared mission of healthcare improvement in underserved regions.
