Explore Art and Innovation at PowerX's Open Factory during Setouchi International Art Festival 2025

Setouchi International Art Festival 2025: Summer Session at PowerX's Headquarters

The Setouchi International Art Festival is a biennial event that showcases contemporary art on the islands and coastal areas of Setouchi. The upcoming 2025 summer session runs from August 1st to August 31st and promises exciting activities, particularly at the PowerX headquarters known as "Power Base" located in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture.

PowerX’s Commitment to Art and Community

As a partner of the Setouchi International Art Festival, PowerX emphasizes its dedication to invigorating the Setouchi region. The previous spring sessions attracted over 2,400 visitors who came to engage with an exhibition by renowned artist Teppei Kanishi, showcasing his work titled "Model of Something." This summer, visitors will not only be able to admire this artwork but will also have the opportunity to participate in new factory tour experiences.

Featured Art Exhibit: "Model of Something"

Kanishi's piece, "Model of Something," uses transparent materials adorned with freehand-drawn stripes that layer intricately to create complex, three-dimensional patterns. This thought-provoking display invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between art and production, aligning perfectly with the venue’s industrial backdrop.

Exciting New Factory Tour

Starting this summer, guided tours of the Power Base will be available, providing a unique glimpse into the manufacturing processes behind PowerX’s cutting-edge products. Designed by the world-renowned architect Kazuyo Sejima, the Power Base is home to several key technologies, such as the hyper-fast EV charging system, "Hypercharger," and the medium-sized energy storage system, "PowerX Cube 360." This is a rare opportunity to witness the inner workings of a pioneering energy solutions provider.

Tickets for the factory tour can be reserved via the designated application page, which ensures that visitors secure their spots in advance.

Look Forward to the Pop-Up Café: "BOLLARD COFFEE by PowerX"

Additionally, the popular local coffee stand, BOLLARD COFFEE, is set to launch a limited-time pop-up café at the venue. In collaboration with the famous Japanese restaurant Aoyagi from Azabudai, visitors can enjoy a refreshing summer treat of cold shaved ice, along with other delicious offerings. Taking a break at this café will surely enhance your art exploration experience.

Please note that prior reservations are also required to visit both the factory tours and the pop-up café. Detailed information is available on the event's dedicated site!
