Jacobs Partners with Murphy to Enhance London's Uxbridge Moor Power Infrastructure

Jacobs Selected for Uxbridge Moor Substation Design



In a significant stride towards bolstering London's electrical infrastructure, Jacobs has been appointed by Murphy as the civil design partner for the Uxbridge Moor substation project. This new facility, located in west London, represents a multimillion-pound contract awarded by National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET). Project Overview


The Uxbridge Moor substation will serve as a connection point for new customers to the electrical network, designed to accommodate the sharp rise in electricity demand in western London. The project comprises the construction of a new 400kV substation alongside a new 132kV substation, complemented by ancillary infrastructures and underground cabling. Modifications to the existing 400kV overhead line network will also be carried out to seamlessly integrate the new substation into the grid.
