Mitsubishi Pencil Corporation, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has officially partnered with the Japan Organization for Persons with Disabilities to co-host the 5th Annual Art Contest. This year's theme, "Express Your Uniqueness," invites participants to reflect on their individuality through creative visual art and descriptive text. The aim is to broaden opportunities for expression among diverse perspectives.

Art Contest Overview



Theme


The central theme for this year's contest is "Express Your Uniqueness." Participants are encouraged to express their personal interpretation of what makes them unique through their art.

Eligibility


To apply, participants must meet one of the following criteria:
  • - Be registered as an artist with Paralymart or meet the registration conditions.
  • - Agree to the contest rules.
- There are no age limits or experience restrictions.
- All individuals with disabilities are welcome to participate.

Submission Guidelines


Entries must include:
  • - A physical artwork created on a flat medium, within A4 to A3 size and less than 1 cm thick.
  • - A written description of 100 to 200 characters detailing the concept of individual uniqueness and the choice of expression.
  • - Participation in the materials survey included in the application form, which does not affect the judging process.

Submission Period


  • - July 1 to July 31, 2026

Announcement of Results


  • - Expected by early October 2026.

Awards and Recognition


  • - Grand Prize: 100,000 yen for one winner.
  • - Excellence Awards: 50,000 yen each for two winners.
  • - POSCA Award: 5 winners will receive a set of 15 medium-color Posca markers.
  • - EMOTT Award: 5 winners will receive a set of 10 EMOTT water-based sign pens.
  • - uni Award: 20 winners will receive 2 uni pencils each.
