This prestigious event marked a significant platform for showcasing advancements in pharmaceutical engineering in Asia.
Central to their presentation was the introduction of an automated biostorage solution that operates at an incredibly low temperature of -80 °C. This state-of-the-art system combines automated storage with intelligent sample management, catering specifically to pharmaceutical laboratories and research institutions that handle high-value samples. The goal is to significantly improve productivity and traceability in managing these samples.
Additionally, Haier Biomedical highlighted their pilot freeze dryer, which serves as a bridge between laboratory research and the subsequent manufacturing stages, facilitating both pharmaceutical process development and pilot-scale freeze-drying. Together, these products fulfill complementary roles in sample management, process development, and pilot production.
During a key session named 'Power Hour', the company showcased its ULT (Ultra-Low Temperature) RFID intelligent storage system, specifically designed to link physical samples to digital records throughout the storage process. Each sample is assigned a unique RFID identifier, with antennas and readers built into the storage compartments, allowing for data collection without requiring direct line-of-sight scanning. This software manages each sample's location and movement history, creating structured records of incoming and outgoing flows.
The configurable system supports various sample formats, including vials, bags, tubes, and cryotubes, thanks to tailored storage interfaces such as shelves, trays, and dedicated holders. By connecting identity data, location, movement history, and storage conditions, the platform aims to minimize manual searches and stock reconciliation operations while enhancing traceability throughout quality control, warehousing, and supply chain processes.
As pharmaceutical operations increasingly automate and pivot toward data-driven, quality-centric practices, clients are seeking more than just standalone equipment. The company reported a 23% increase in revenue from pharmaceutical sector clients during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in the previous year, while laboratory solutions also saw an increase of 19%. Activities related to artificial intelligence accounted for 18% of revenue, marking a three-percentage-point rise from 2025.
