The Technology Behind the Smart #2

At the heart of the smart #2 lies the newly engineered Electric Compact Architecture (ECA) platform, crafted for ultra-compacted electric vehicles. Measuring just 2.746mm, it offers an impressive interior space, combining a smart body structure with an integrated high-voltage battery, rear-wheel drive, and advanced chassis technology. Powering the car is a 60-kW electric motor at the rear, capable of delivering 130 Nm of torque to the rear wheels.

For the European market, the smart #2 is equipped with a 35.8-kWh LFP battery, aimed at achieving a comprehensive range of 290 km according to WLTP standards. Compatible with 65-kW DC fast charging, it can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes, making it a highly practical option for daily commutes.

Moreover, the agility of the smart #2 is enhanced by a minimum turning radius of only 6.95 meters, making it well-suited for navigating tight urban streets and cramped parking spots. The five-link rear axle technology, a first in its class, ensures excellent handling both in the city and on highways, providing confidence and safety during drives.
