Canton Fair Enhances Its Global Partnership Network for Economic Growth

Canton Fair Strengthens Global Alliances

The Canton Fair, officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, has recently taken an important step in expanding its global network of partnerships. On October 16, a signing ceremony for a global cooperation agreement for the 140th Canton Fair was conducted, attended by notable figures including Zhu Yong, General Director of the China Foreign Trade Center (CFTC), Eugene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, and Ali El Abdallah, President of the Lebanese Chinese Business Association. The event also welcomed over 70 guests, signifying the growing interest in international collaboration.

A Vision for Shared Economic Growth

In his address, Zhu Yong emphasized that the Global Cooperative Partner Program is intended to fulfill the vision of Prime Minister Li Qiang. This vision aims to continue the trend of economic globalization and respond to the international community's call for joint development. Yong stated that this round of agreements signifies a more robust partner network, comprehensive and effective intermediary services, and higher levels of substantial cooperation.

Eugene Seroka characterized this partnership with the Canton Fair as a fresh start rooted in mutual trust, aimed at boosting business growth and fostering shared progress.

New Partnerships and Renewed Collaborations

The Canton Fair has signed memorandums of understanding with eight organizations, introducing six new partners: the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, Joinco, the Palestinian Businessmen Association, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the Polish-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Los Angeles. Additionally, it renewed connections with two established partners: the Lebanese Chinese Business Association and the Chinese Information and Cultural Center in Kenya.

These new partnerships create key nodes connecting major entry ports in North America with established European markets, encompassing a diverse range of companies in shipping, logistics, business associations, and notable purchasing enterprises. The Canton Fair has previously collaborated with 240 organizations from 112 countries and regions, and this edition promises further expansion in competencies.

China's Commitment to Global Collaboration

In a congratulatory letter for the 140th Canton Fair, President Xi Jinping expressed China's eagerness to collaborate with countries worldwide to collectively uphold the multilateral trading system and expand mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation. Guided by this spirit, the Canton Fair plans to extend its cooperation beyond the trade of goods. This includes joint brand creation, shared market development, and the provision of shared services.

The emphasis on shared values and mutual growth resonates strongly with these new agreements. By establishing deeper connections, the Canton Fair is not only promoting its events but also ensuring a framework for ongoing business collaboration that can adapt to the evolving demands of the global marketplace.

With this commitment to enhancing global cooperation in trade, the Canton Fair stands poised to offer expanded opportunities for business and partnership while contributing to a more interconnected world economy.
