Cactus Implements Capital Alliance with Co-LABO MAKER to Expand Research Support

Cactus Communications, a company renowned for its comprehensive support services for researchers, has officially announced a capital alliance with Co-LABO MAKER, a platform focused on enhancing research development through resource sharing. This strategic partnership will come into effect on April 1, 2026, and is set to address several pressing challenges faced by researchers and institutions in today’s evolving research landscape.

The main objective of this collaboration is to improve access to research resources, streamline research activities, and promote sustainable research environments. Cactus has been pivotal in providing AI-driven products and solutions that support researchers, universities, and publishing houses in overcoming prevalent obstacles in the research process. Meanwhile, Co-LABO MAKER offers a unique platform for sharing experimental equipment, technology, and materials, facilitating a more efficient resource allocation and procurement process. This aligns with the growing demand for sustainable practices within research settings.

In recent times, the research landscape has encountered challenges stemming from limited funding, rising costs of equipment investment, and growing expectations around flexibility and sustainability in resource acquisition. Consequently, optimizing not just research activities but the entire research environment has become an essential theme.

This partnership is expected to leverage the strengths of both companies. Cactus's expertise in research support and academic communication, combined with Co-LABO MAKER's knowledge in integrating research facilities and materials, will create a more effective collaboration to tackle these issues. The collective aim is to provide more profound and practical value for researchers and institutions through this alliance.

Cactus Communications' Chief Growth Officer, Makoto Yuasa, expressed his excitement about this capital alliance during a press briefing. He emphasized that the research landscape is undergoing significant transformations, highlighting the increasing importance of building a foundation that allows researchers to pursue their work in a more flexible and sustainable manner. He noted that the combined insights from Co-LABO MAKER and Cactus would yield broader value for the research community than ever before.

Likewise, CEO Yuki Furuya of Co-LABO MAKER stated his pride in forming this partnership with Cactus. He indicated that their company has always aimed to optimize resource circulation and utilization within research environments. By merging Cactus's AI technology and academic communication expertise with their extensive physical research resource platform, this partnership is poised to expedite solutions for the challenges faced in research settings.

Moving forward, both companies aim to deepen their collaboration to offer innovative solutions within the research and life sciences domains. The focus will include maximizing the effective use of research resources, enhancing convenience in research settings, and further elevating support for research activities. Their shared goal through this partnership is to contribute to the growth and development of the research community at large.
