Ziplus Expands Translation Service for Singapore Driving Licenses

On September 8, 2025, Ziplus Co., Ltd. (President: Shigeru Kanasaka, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo) announced an expansion of its translation services by adding Singapore to the list of countries for which drivers can obtain the necessary Japanese translation documents for switching to a Japanese driving license. This new development will facilitate smoother license conversion for holders of Singaporean driving licenses, who can now enjoy same-day translation services through Ziplus.

Background: Increasing Demand for Translation Services

Previously, Ziplus catered to translation needs from countries such as the United States, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines, Nepal, Ukraine, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. However, there has been a growing demand specifically for the translation of Singaporean driving licenses due to the influx of Singaporean residents in Japan. Based on the statistics from the National Police Agency, the number of individuals switching to Japanese licenses from foreign licenses has risen from 66,127 in the 2023 fiscal year to an expected 75,905 in 2024.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that as of October 1, 2024, there were 32,565 Japanese citizens residing in Singapore. By introducing translation services for Singaporean driving licenses, Ziplus aims to reach a larger segment of customers who require assistance in converting their licenses.
