Variant Investments Welcomes New Leadership with Key Appointments in Capital Markets and Investor Relations

Variant Investments Expands Senior Leadership Team

In a notable development for the financial sector, Variant Investments, a renowned SEC-registered private credit investment manager, has recently announced the expansion of its senior leadership team. This move is underscored by the appointments of Qing Fan as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets and Patrick Dillon as Vice President of Investor Relations. With a robust portfolio of $2.6 billion in assets under management, the firm is poised to leverage the expertise of these two industry veterans to enhance its operational capacity and market reach.

Qing Fan, who is taking on the role of SVP of Capital Markets, will spearhead Variant's capital markets strategy. This includes focusing on syndication initiatives and broadening the firm's footprint in the institutional investor market. Her experience is extensive; prior to joining Variant, Fan held the position of co-chief revenue officer and head of capital markets at Raistone, a leading fintech company where she developed capital markets strategies and established a global network of institutional investors. Furthermore, her career includes significant roles at BNP Paribas and The Sumitomo Trust Banking Co., Ltd., where she honed her skills in financing and market development. Fan will operate out of Variant's New York office and will report directly to JB Hayes, the firm’s Co-Founder and Principal.

On the other hand, Patrick Dillon, who will serve as VP of Investor Relations, is set to play a crucial role in increasing the firm's capital raising efforts within the U.S. wealth management sector. His focus will be on registered investment advisors (RIAs), Turnkey Asset Manager Programs (TAMPs), and broker-dealers. Based in Chicago, Dillon will report to Ryan Warren, Director of Investor Relations. Previously, Dillon was a client portfolio manager and external wholesaler at Community Capital Management, effectively managing relationships while supporting asset growth across the firm. His previous experiences at Ethic and Halo Investing further solidify his ability to spearhead distribution across RIA and family office channels.

JB Hayes expressed enthusiasm over the new appointments, stating, “We are thrilled to bring Qing and Patrick on board as we continue to broaden our senior team.” He praised Fan for her unique skill set and extensive experience in originations and syndications, emphasizing her potential to foster collaboration between the investment and investor relations teams. Hayes also pointed out Dillon's deep understanding of the institutional and advisor segments, asserting that his insights will be invaluable in developing and strengthening key relationships.

Both Fan and Dillon bring not only experience but also strong educational backgrounds to Variant Investments. Fan holds a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, while Dillon has earned bachelor's degrees from Indiana University and possesses multiple FINRA licenses alongside being a Chartered SRI Counselor®.
