The 6th Children's Clothing Market at Sunshine City

On June 28th and 29th, the Sunshine City Group in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, hosted the sixth edition of the "Children's Clothing Market". This initiative, in collaboration with the certified NPO Toyoshima Children's WAKUWAKU Network, aims to distribute donated children's clothing to families in the Toshima district.

Event Overview

This two-day event attracted 522 visitors from 187 households, who were able to receive approximately 1,300 pieces of children's clothing. Supported by the local government, the event highlighted the importance of community collaboration among the private sector, educational institutions, and non-profits to support local children. Attendees enjoyed fun activities like selecting clothing, engaging in multi-generational interactions, and experiencing the joys of dressing up.

Community Involvement

The market was made possible thanks to contributions from various organizations and volunteers, including students. Families participated in selecting clothing and school supplies, while student volunteers organized games like bowling and mini-golf. Parents and children also enjoyed activities such as origami, which facilitated interactions and fostered community spirit in a designated relaxation area. Sunshine City is committed to continuing this initiative to provide clothing to those in need while supporting healthy growth among children in the community.
